Our History & Aims
Bracken Place is a spacious day nursery and pre-school for children between the ages of 0 – 5 years, set in 2 acres of grounds in Chilworth on the outskirts of Southampton. The nursery opened in 2000 and has grown through the years to be now recognised as one of the leading independent day care nursery’s in Hampshire.
In April 2016 we were delighted to be given an outstanding rating by Ofsted who felt the overall quality of teaching and learning experiences provided to be at the highest level.
We aim to provide an environment that replicates the loving care and attention that your child receives at home with in a setting where children can experience lots of outdoor space, get a thirst for learning and have FUN!
We operate a Keyworker (link to Keyworker page) system which allows individual members of staff to focus on children to enhance our philosophy and ethos to develop children by praise and encouragement. Our desire is to consider every child individually by providing support and care for moral, social, intellectual, emotional and physical development.
Bracken Place consists of 5 separate areas, all of which are fully equipped with age appropriate equipment for the age groups. All areas follow the Early Years Foundation Stage as detailed by the Department for Education & Skills.
Choosing a day care nursery for your child is such an important decision and one you will rightly wish to make with confidence. At Bracken Place when a child starts at the nursery a settling in period is arranged to ensure the smooth transition from home to nursery and provides an opportunity for us to learn more about your child.
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming your children to Bracken Place.
